I got Google Apps setup for my free domain www.tanay.uni.cc



the best part is that now i have literally infinite email addresses.. when someone says whatz ur email address i can give anything starting from a@tanay.uni.cc to zzzz....zzzz@tanay.uni.cc with all possible combinations of numerals and dots. Though i had to struggle a bit while setting up Google Apps. I had a tough time setting the DNS settings. I made a call to all the people i know to help me.



This is how i shout. www.pleasehelp.uni.cc . . finally this guy came to my rescue.. "Michael McDonald" .. and there was it.. the setup was complete.. but i had to wait for 24 hrs for the DNS settings to propagate.. else the domain was working from some places and not working from other places..



Now i have a very powerful email.. i can compose my messages from anyaddress@tanay.uni.cc and receive any mail sent to anyaddress@tanay.uni.cc



then i sent this notice to all my near ones that i have changed my personal mail from saitanay@gmail.com to tanay@tanay.uni.cc



Next i setup a vacation autoresponder in my old mail which sends a reply to all messages sent to the old address notifying them about the address change.. Also i get all the mails sent to my old inbox forwArded to my new inbox.



there is definitely some pride in having an email address urname@ursite.com ( but i agree this is not a .com domain but a free domain .uni.cc)



but its ok.. eveything related to the site is free.. be it the hosting, the domain, the mail server ( google Apps) .. literally everything..
